A parent who believes in an active childhood.

ZTAG exists because childhood is changing — and not in the direction we want. Kids are spending more time with screens and less with each other, less moving, less playing in the open. We built ZTAG to bring the things kids love about technology into the kinds of experiences kids actually need: active, social, face-to-face, joyful.

ZTAG is a platform — not an app, not a curriculum, not a video game. It's a system of wearables and a command center that lets a coach or coordinator launch active games for groups of students in minutes, with no internet required and no special PE skills needed. The technology fades into the background; the kids run, laugh, and pay attention to each other.

We work with afterschool programs, expanded learning programs, parks & rec departments, summer camps, and schools across California and beyond. Our goal isn't to maximize sales — it's to find the educators and program leaders who already share this belief and make it dead-simple for them to bring active, screen-free play back into their students' day.

Founder note

ZTAG was created by Quan Gan, a parent and engineer with a background in immersive entertainment design (formerly at Disney and Universal) and engineering training at Berkeley and Stanford. The product reflects what he wished existed for his own kids and for the schools he saw struggling to compete with screens for student attention.

"The platform you've developed has been instrumental in encouraging our children to interact face-to-face instead of through digital screens."

— Mrs. Williams, parent
